A little bit about me
My name is John and I’m a freelance website designer living in the GTA, Ontario. Using search engine optimization, paid search campaigns and web analytics, I build websites that deliver qualified leads and increase your website’s traffic. I’ve been to the Middle East three times, and after university I went to Japan to teach English and pay off my student loans. I also lived and worked in Scotland for two years and I’m a dual citizen of both Canada and the United Kingdom.
I can provide your business with a responsive website, built with HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery, that will convert your website traffic into business. A responsive website adapts your website’s layout according to what device you are viewing the site with, such as on a smartphone, iPad or a desktop browser. My current site uses a responsive design. With more and more people accessing websites from their smart phones, I take what’s called a mobile first approach to web design. This means I design how your site will look on a smart phone first, then I design an iPad version and finally I create a desktop version of your site.
First, I start with your target audience and research what keywords they would use to search for your product. Then I take those keywords and optimize your existing content and build your site’s URL structure. Next I create your site’s wireframes. I then develop the “look and feel” of your site and build some page mock-ups. Once the mock-ups are approved, I code the site and set up some web analytics tracking software so you see who is visiting your site and track how they convert from visitors into customers.
